Oh, Faye! Another tremendous image!! I love the colors here - the blue hues against the terra cotta are so appealing - and that rim of lighter blue near the hot wax is marvelous. Gorgeous capture of the flame - LOVE the shape, and even a double reflection in the wax. The closest one looks like it's licking the rim of the pot! Great little diffused detail on the outside of the pot, nice slate-like surface complimenting the wax. This photo is just delectable! Tremendous job, Faye... =:)

This is such an interesting picture in terms of lighting. When I take a picture of a flame mine is always overexposed .. especially this close. Your flame has a wonderful yellow and orange in it. The warm glow on the pot surface is perfect. The reflection in the blue pool tops it off. I'm wondering how you got such sharp focus within the candle and the pot itself has such a wonderful soft edge? Did it just happen that way or did you soften the edge in post production? Great shot!
