Les cavaliers de l'enfer.

Cette monumentale tenture à usage princier est commandée entre 1373 et 1377 par le duc Louis Ier d'Anjou. Initialement, cette tenture mesurait environ cent-quarante mètres de long et six mètres de haut. Elle se compose de six pièces, comportant chacun 14 tableaux, évoquant des visions que Jean aurait reçues à la fin du Ier siècle. En plus d'une illustration du texte de saint Jean, la tapisserie contient des informations ou satires (parfois des clins d'œil) sur la vie politique et sociale du XIVe siècle.

This monumental tapestry with princely use is commanded between 1373 and 1377 by duke Louis Ier of Anjou. Initially, this hanging measured approximately one hundred forty meters long and six meters high. It consists of six pieces, containing each 14 paintings, evoking visions which Jean would have received at the end of Ist century. Besides an illustration of saint Jean's text, the tapestry contains information or satires (sometimes winks) on the political and social life of the XIVth century.
