Hôtel St Pol

Cet hôtel particulier fut construit sous le règne de Louis XII. Il est situé en face de la Chancellerie.
C'est à cet endroit qu'en 1521, le jour de la fête des rois, François Ier reçut accidentellement un tison enflammé
et fut ainsi contraint de se laisser pousser la barbe pour dissimuler sa cicatrice.

This mansion was built under the reign of Louis XII. It is situated in front of the Chancellery.
It is in this place that in 1521, the day of Twelfth Night, François Ist received accidentally a burning brand and was so forced to let grow the beard to hide his scar.
