Hi Jane I was looking for Holly tree pictures and yours came up and I was amazed at the amount of Orbs you have on the photo, some of them are great and they go way back into the background as well. They are usually around after a storm, snow or rain, they seem to like the energy that is left behind. Anyway well done for picking up so many on your photos. I am an 'orb-oholic' haha.

Hey Jane, wondering where exactly that photo of Megansett was taken, I think it might be in front of my old house....

Hi Jane:

I wrote you earlier this year that we were going to Guatemala and Costa Rica on an OAT tour from Aug. 14 to Aug. 31.

Since you have spent some time here (at least in Costa Rica), I thought you might like to see some of my photos which I have placed on two web pages:

For Guatemala click on:

http://hpolejes.home.mindspring.com/

For Costa Rica click on:

http://jdpolejes.home.mindspring.com/

Technical info:

Each page consists of a collection of 15 thumbnail pictures. You navigate back-and-forth by clicking on the right arrow or left arrow symbols on the top right side. To see the large image for each thumbnail, click on it. This brings you the full-page view which includes a filename that identifies the picture to me (only the last 4 digits are needed to ID that picture). When you are in full-page view, you can see the previous or the next large picture using the right and left direction arrows. To return to a thumbnail page, click the up arrow (all these arrows are on the top right side of the page).

For PC users using Internet Explorer as "browser":
for best viewing, set the browser for full screen mode (view - full screen; press restore button on upper right to return to normal mode). The easiest way to do this is to use the F11 key, which toggles between full screen and normal mode
For Mac users (System X) using Internet Explorer:
for best viewing, you can toggle between the two modes (view - collapse tools; view - expand tools). The easiest way is to use "Apple-B" as a toggle between full and normal screen modes.
Mac users that use Safari as browser do not need to do any of this. Normal mode is fine for viewing the pictures.

The pictures (except for scans made using an Epson CX6400 printer/scanner) were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 4300. All were edited using Photoshop Elements 2. The web pages were constructed using the Table template in the Web Gallery utility in PSE2. This was a lot easier than using my HTML editor (Front Page Express).

I am still using the Nikon to copy and digitize my old travel slides. I am thinking of investing in a slide scanner for this (I have my eye on the Minolta Dimage Dual IV). As you can see, I have been busy compiling these web pages (using 180 of the 850 pictures my wife and I took), preparing a CD-slide show to show friends on my TV using a DVD player (sure beats setting up a slide show with screen and projector), and getting ready to print multiple pages for a photo-album of our trip.

As you know, travel and photography make a great combination for retired people like myself. Getting to use my computer skills is an added bonus. Take care

Jack
