2 fisher cats spotted 1:00 am on New Year's day in Danvers Ma...just walking down the street! no wonder we haven't seen many stray kitties lately!

A fisher just killed 2 of my chickens :( My boyfriend shot it!!! Yea!!!!!!!!! They are terrible

i live in mass and fisher cats are horrible... one of my buddies was attacked by a fisher as he was just taking out his garbage one night.. had many stitches in his face... i now carry a 9mm when i hike through woods now

Fishers are part of the natural ecosystem like any other wild animal. They are not "invading" anywhere; they were in Connecticut and Rhode Island until the forested landscape was replaced by open farm land in the 1700 and 1800's. With the return of the forests, animals like fishers, black bear and even moose have returned. Killing fishers is irrational and unnecessary. Properly built enclosures for chickens, including electric net fencing, solves the predation problem very effectively. As for cats, cats should be kept indoors anyway, as they are extremely destructive to wildlife when left out of doors.

Horray for fishers!!! Cats are really deadly to birds and other small creatures. I am glad that they are being eaten so that they can't eat so many other small creatures.

We are in woonsocket, RI and heard the screeching sound of a fishercat last night...after all the reading, I am really scared for our dogs, we have a fenced yard but...I heard that the motion type lights will keep them away ??? how true is that ??? Are they rabid ??? does anyone know ??? We thought of "shooting" it with a paint ball gun if we do see it...I am an animal lover..but this animal scares me...

they are invading old lyme and east lyme as well and the cats in my naighboerhood are disapearing daily I lost one and my next door naight has lost 4 in the last month

One of these fishercats is living under my shed, and it tried to chase me when i went outside to clean my rabbit cage.. These guys are not fun! they are invading RI!
