Macaroni Penguins

Macaroni Penguin is is 70 cm tall and weighs 5.5 kg. It is probably the most beautifully decorated of the seven penguins seen on this trip. They like to roost and raise their young on cliffs, so despite their huge population, chances of seeing them are rare. We saw a solitary penguin on the Falkland Islands. Most of them live on the island of South Georgia, but due to bad weather, we couldn't go ashore. We could only take a few photos from a distance on the bumpy rubber boat. Moms and dads of the chicks take turns to look for food in the sea. One takes care of the house to feed the baby, and the other goes to the sea to eat a lot. It takes 10-14 days to head out and back. Each brood will hatch two.
