The namesake pine trees and windswept cliffs line the unspoiled beaches just north of San Diego. It provides for dramatic contrasts with the ocean, sky and vegetation. The temperate climate brings people to the coastline year round. The park was named after Dr. John Torrey, a botanist, who never came here.
