Traditionally, the lion in Asian culture is the symbol of courage, stability and superiority. Lion dance is performed to ring in the New Year during the Chinese Spring Festival. The dance is done to chase away ghosts and evil spirits, and to bring good luck and business. The dangling red tongues say “incoming are the treasures and fortunes”.
