Humpback Whale

The humpback whale is 12-16 meters long, and the female whale is bigger. It weighs 36 tons. Humpback whale calves are 6 meters long when they are born. They migrate between the North and South Poles every year, with a journey of about 250,000 kilometers. Their diet is mainly krill, they blow bubbles to confuse the krill, and can eat more than two tons of krill a day! Their tails are like handprints, no two are alike. For wildlife lovers, humpback whales are marine animals that love to perform. They like to breach (bow their backs), fluke (fish tail out of the sea), and play with their pectoral fins. We saw several of them traveling together many times during this trip, and we often saw signs of them panting through their blowholes a few kilometers away. Occasionally, they would swim near the hull and check us curiously.
