Chinstrap Penguins

Chinstrap Penguins. They have a great smile, much like African meerkats, very cute. Due to the unfavorable weather, either it was impossible to go ashore or the ice in the ocean had not melted, so the boat could not pass. We can only take a rubber boat to observe their activities from a distance, or watch them shuttle quickly in the sea, and the chance of being able to photograph the surface of the water is very short. The weight of chinstrap is about 6kg, the height is 70cm, and two hatchlings are hatched at a time. Their primary environment is the islands north of the Antarctic continent. These photos were mainly taken around Elephant Island. This was where Shackleton spent for 4 1/2 months during the autumn and winter of 1916 when the 22 expedition crew needed to be rescued lived. Their food were sea otters, penguins and kelp. The monument on the island was built to commemorate this history of exploration.
