Incredible over a 1,000 hits.
I have one street scene which is truly unbelievable.
Look athttp://www.pbase.com/stats/john_cooper/image/48811877 As of today 8,308 hits, still averaging 10 hits a day.
I have no idea why. All my similar street shots are around 20 or 30 hits.
What a great scene this is! I would have travelled with my parents between Woking and Homerton in that era - but we went via Putney Bridge and Parson's Green towards the Embankment.
The nearest car is definitely a Ford, and I think a Ford Popular or 'Box' as my Dad used to call them. The Ford Prefect looked very similar, and were both updated with a more up to date shape which he called the 'Super Box'. Boxes weren't very fast as I recall!
The small car in the rear is a Ford I think, the one at the crossing possibly an Armstrong Siddeley. And your 1935 comment is on the mark. apart from those parts of London forcibly changed by Hitler, much of London didn't change until the 80's and much hasn't changed at all. for a modern shot of the same corner, see

Looks like it could just as easily be 1935. It must be winter judging from the raincoat on the motorcylist. Is that a Triumph? Interesting period piece...
