We set out to hike the Six Glaciers trail today. According to the hotel if you are in OK physical condition its a breeze. Ha !. A 375m (1300') climb in about 5.5 km, it took us 2 1/2 hours with some rests. What they don't mention is that the first 2.5 km is flat, so the climb is much steeper than it appears at first. The trail is also fairly rocky, wet and narrow after the first 2.5km. On one part for safety you might want to hold guide wires. Views are magnificent though, and we enjoyed the trip immensely. Watching avalanches off of Mount Victoria is a thrill not to be missed.
