They have been rehabilitating the Old Montreal historic area for 20 odd years, here on St Paul East they removed the tarmac surface and relaid the old cobblestones beneath. Both to match the look of building with the dome - the 19th C market, and to calm traffic, go over 20 and you lose your suspension.
But its a great area now, good restaurants, small deluxe hotels and expensive condos.
