Battle of Queenston Heights - the War of 1812

The war everyone won according to whoever wrote the history book. The USA did win partially, it removed British interference in the expansion west, got a professional army started, and turned inwards to develop their own industry instead of relying on imports. The British won partially by holding onto Canada and their command of the sea, their vision of naval blockades and rules concerning neutral shipping were in force for another 100 years. The losers were the aboriginal tribes, who never again had the numbers or organisation to effectively resist settlement
