Wunderl ("Wunderl" is German for "small miracle") is a beautiful cat with a head and body shape (mighty shoulders and narrow haunches) that reminds of a lion.
When he was a child (Julcie's firstborn) he almost died, because Julcie was not too interested in his well-being (she was a very young mother). Blacky (died in 2002), Julcie's sister, fed him with her litter.
Wunderl suffered some birth defects: he is moving his right hind foot in a strange (but utterly charming) way and is a little slow witted. We love him all the more because of this - he is so utterly delightful in his slow and ponderous way to handle things...
It was a small miracle we managed to keep him alive, and that's the reason for naming him "Wunderl" - "small miracle".
As some sort of revenge for his troubled childhood, Wunderl enjoys nothing more then chasing his mother. Julcie reacts to this abuse with hysterical fits and screams.
