I was feeling very weak for some days - much weaker then last year after sterile room.
Yesterday, I started to feel not only weak, but somehow strange and actually - ill.

Luckily I thought that it could be a good idea to measure my temperature - it was at 38.4°C.

Uh-oh.

The hematology had told me that I should call immediately when I started to develop a fever.
OK, so I called the hematology only to hear that they had absolutely no free beds, and that I should go to emergency room instead.

The told me I should just tell the MDs there what situation I was in, so that I would not have to wait too long.

So my parents drove me to the ER, which luckily was not too full.

After telling my story (recent bone marrow transplant, left the hospital 5 days ago, developed a high fever) they had me in a checking room after no more 5 minutes.

By this time, my fever had increased to 38.8°C

They took loads of blood samples, a urine sample and also took a thorax X-ray to check if I had developed a pneumonia.

The blood samples were evaluated in record time: CRP was less then the day before, as was LDH.
There was no blood or protein within my urine, so my kidneys were OK.

The X-Ray scan showed no trace of a pneumonia.

The ER-MD nevertheless wanted me to stay in the hospital - in a 4-bed room within pneumology.

I decided to take a risk, signed a revers, received 2 new antibiotics (Klacid and Clavamox) and went home.

To many, this may sound like I've finally gone mad. But be sure, it was a very calculated risk.

I would not have gone home if the CRP/LDH/Urine values had not been more or less OK. Besides, we live only about 15 minutes away from the hospital.

Today morning, my temperature was down to 36.8°C.

By the way, have I mentioned that we have a great health system here? - a pity that there are so many people who abuse it...
