Leuko count went up to 200 today (has been between 0 and 30 during the last days). Also, within my hips and my pelvis, the typical pulsing pain that is associated with the rebuild has started.

Now I am curious how fast the regrowth will be. Last year in sterile room it was like a rocket launch: 300 - 3000 - 12000 - 19000 and I went home.

Hello Mr. Farrugia,

thank you for writing.

I was wondering when somebody would notice my new camera:-)

It was a "birthday" present from myself, because I now consider April the 6th (day of transplant) as my new birthday.

The purchase was one of the typical problems that a healthy human would not face: normally, the D2Hs would have been way too expensive for me.

I wanted a camera with portrait grip, 100% viewfinder, and very high resolution LCD.
As I already have invested in some Nikon lenses, the system to purchase was also clear.

Normally, I would just have waited till the Nikon D90/D200 (whatever it is going to be called) would come out.

But this could take months or years, and in my situation, waiting is the most stupid strategy. I rather thought "Pick up what is available and use it to it's best advantage".

My only worry was the 4MP resolution, but this resolution is perfectly OK if you do not want to do huge posters all the time:-)

One thing that bothers me is that Nikon has encrypted the WB-data within the RAW(NEF)-Files. Adobe could easily crack that encryption but this would be unlawful.

So right now (050422), there is only one way to do RAW-image conversion: use the Nikon Capture Editor 4.2.1.

Compared to the Photoshop Raw image conversion workflow, this thing is very slow and crappy. It is possible to use the Capture Editor as Photoshop plugin, but then the EXIF-data get lost during conversion:-(((

Well, time will tell.

Best regards, Carl

Hello K,

it seems your positive thoughts have helped indeed: today my leuko-count was up to 2160 - more then a tenfold (!!!) increase since yesterday.

It seems like I will be going home tomorrow or on Sunday.

All my best wishes to your father!

Thank you for writing, best regards,
Carl
