First day of radiation therapy (17th of May 2004).

The MDs had decided to expand the upper field to include my thyroid gland. In fact, the field would have gone up till to my teeth.

I did not like that and asked them scale down the field. I had to sign a revers with ugly and severe warnings, but the MD was very understanding: "I would not know how I would decide in your situation", he said to me.

It was a very good decision actually: the radiation did not work anyway, and if I had just said "yes and amen", I would have a kaputt thyroid gland now. And kaputt salivary glands. And kaputt teeth.

Looking at my body on that photo, I guess I had already lost some 10 kg of fat at that time.
