This very late godwit was found in a small patch of grass or road median near the entrance of the Meig's Point parking lot. Surprisingly, the godwit's tenacious foraging behavior caught my attention while leaving the roundabout from Meig's Point. We noticed the left tarsus was missing as the bird desperately probed for food.
