Tug on the River

Ama, LA

This tug was manuevering barges on the river near the grain elevator in Ama. The captain of the tug came out and waved as I was walking back up the levee. There was a ship taking on grain

and one waiting across the river. The pelicans were chasing after the grain that blew out over the water.

Nice colors against a grey day. The image has a peaceful feel about it.

I love these tug boat shots. I find it fascinating something that small can pull those huge ships.

Wonderful image Elaine. Um, shouldn't those pelicans be chasing fish, not grain !!

Tugs always have such a story. Like the brush in the f/g.

Good shot.

Quite different than the tug I found frozen in the ice yesterday. I like plants in the foreground. They make the tug and the barges look so much bigger.

Great catch. The birds seem to be hurrying the tug along.

Very nice photo. The red of the tugboat is wonderful. The river will remain high for a while I guess because of all the snow up north.

Nice capture - commerce being done in a way mother nature never imagined.

Its another busy day on the river... the traffic is fascinating. The river still looks high.
