This egret was content to pose for me as long as I stayed in the car. I seemed to live in the car today. I managed to drive over 300 miles today between Thibodaux and New Orleans - mostly as a chauffeur for my children, though my trip to Thibodaux was to turn in my graduation application for the completion of my Masters this spring (smile Mom!).

This interesting bridge crosses Bayou Lafourche near Raceland, Louisiana. It is a vertical lift bridge that allows boats to pass up and down the bayou. In this area, directions are given by up the bayou, down the bayou or across the bayou.
