April 4, 2009, was a beautiful sunny day - frosty in the early morning, but it warmed up nicely. The annual Cinderella Classic brings 2500 women and girls together to ride 66 miles around the Pleasanton-Livermore-Dublin-San Ramon area in California. Valley Spokesmen Bicycle Touring Club runs the event, and the club's Prince Charming contingent provides food, drink, sag support, lemon drops, and more. Some women ride with no special preparation; others trained for months ahead to boost their strength, endurance, and to convince themselves that it is possible.
