Tom and I joined the Grizzly Peak Cyclists' Veterans Day weekend outing based at the Calistoga Spa Resort. The weather was chilly (low 30's at night, maybe up to 60 by afternoon) but fabulously clear and sunny and Saturday, and the sky was decorated with wispy clouds on Sunday. We modified the planned rides to fit our unconditioned legs and I experimented with photography from the back seat of our Santana tandem bike. On Saturday we rode about 38 miles, from Calistoga to the hamlet of Jim Town and back. On Sunday, we rode a 24 mile loop from Jim Town to Geyserville and Dry Creek, looping back along Lytton Springs and Alexander Valley roads.
