2009 Wyliecat 30 Worlds

Eight Wyliecat 30s converged near Alameda for an afternoon of 3 short races. Bandicoot, Crinan II, Dazzler, Life is Good, Margay, Nancy, Silkye, and Uno. We had light air for the first, and the course was shortened. When it was time for the second race, the breeze came up. By the time we headed home, the forecast strong winds had arrived, and when we pulled out our handheld anemometer, it was blowing 20-30 with gusts to 37 or more. In our protected berth at Brickyard Cove, the wind was still 15-17.

Sue, I am amazed that the competitve tactic is for a crewman to go forward, all the way to the bow when racing DDW!
