Model is Fujimi's very nicely rendered 1/72 scale F-4K Phantom II FG.Mk 1 painted for Britain's Royal Navy. Built during the mid-1980s, painted with Gunze Sangyo colors and Xtracolor decals. Stencils from the decal set took some painstaking work to apply, but look real nice when completed. Ejection seats are white metal castings from Aeroclub. This was my first attempt at accentuating panel lines with a light wash, a then still new technique in the plastic modeling hobby. Pitot tubes on the vertical fin were replaced with turned down pins. Navigation lights were painted with Tamiya clear blue, green, and red colors as appropriate.
