Union Pacific served a Cargill facility near the Dumbarton Bridge that took LOTS of tank cars. On a very rainy Sunday, April 11, 2010, I caught the train at Willow Street in Newark as it was returning to Newark Yard. The line was known as the Newark Industrial Lead.
At one time along the Dumbarton line in Newark, there were a number of industries served by rail. All are gone now, except the facility near the bridge that takes long strings of tank cars.
While many photographers prefer perfect weather, sometimes getting out into the nastier elements can result in some really interesting images.
