Baltra Island is the entry point to the Galapagos Islands. There's a small airport here. After a short bus ride, one arrives at a jetty where one is transported via Panga to your ship - in my case, Lindblad's Polaris. Baltra Island is also right next to Santa Cruz Island, so it's fairly easy to take public transport to reach Puerto Ayora, the Galapagos' largest town.
