It was a rough ride over to Lasqueti Island for the passengers and freight on this small barge. The island is off the east coast of Vancouver Island and it takes just short of two hours of travel time to get there from the French Creek marina. Shortly after this image was shot the ferries running between Vancouver Island and the mainland shut down for the remainder of the day. It was cold and windy and even the gulls were looking for a protected spot to ride out the storm.
