Jet-Propelled Transportation

Victoria, BC

We were taking the scenic route through Victoria, around the harbour and then along the water, when
we spied this huge 'bird' (not our normal bird sighting, but a 'bird' nevertheless). We made a
quick u-turn into the parking lot, introduced ourselves to the pilot and quickly moved on to asking
permission to photograph this beauty. Permission was granted and four happy photographers shot this
amazing 12-passenger Sikorsky-S76 helicopter!

In November 1986, armed with a vision, one helicopter and handful of dedicated employees, Helijet
Airways Inc began commuter service between downtown Vancouver and downtown Victoria. The first
scheduled helicopter service in Canada! They then launced North America's first scheduled
international helicopter service on May 22, 1997 between Seattle, Wa, and downtown
Victoria, BC. ~ helijet.com

It's a great shot that shows all of the details of this "bird"! It seems big and efficient. Well doen
