Sitting on the beach, watching flying ducks can be a restful and entertaining activity....trying to capture an image of one as it flies by can be a frustrating and time consuming activity! After a number of attempts this Northern Pintail made a slow (well slower) landing right in front of me....I got some shots and came away with an even greater admiration for photographers who get detailed shots of smaller birds in flight. Northern Pintail facts: The Northern Pintail breeds in a variety of habitats all across northern North America and Eurasia. A pintail skeleton was found at 16,400 feet on the Khumbu Glacier during the 1952 expedition to Mt. Everest. ~ Ducks Unlimited Canada
