This heron seemed to be looking for some sunshine. It landed on these rocks, hunted in the water for awhile, then perched on one of the larger boulders, resting in the warm sunshine. Great Blue Heron facts: Herons begin returning to a colony to breed in February and March. Nest building begins in March or April.
