Overlooking the Chemainus River Esturay

Crofton, BC

We were out enjoying the sunshine (temp was -9C...brrrrrr), blue skies and fantastic views. When the sun shines we play.....have to save up the experience to balance out the effect of the coming winter rains. Cowichan River Estuary facts: These waters are part of the Chemainus River Estuary just north of Crofton, BC. It is ranked as the second most important estuary in British Columbia. A recent agreement between Ducks Unlimited Canada and Catalyst Paper Corp. (property owners) has designated the 200-hectre area as a wildlife preserve for thousands of migrating birds, ducks and swans, as well as resident eagles, hawks, fish and land mammals.
