Getting this shot took some stealth, determination and time. It was through the brush to the river's edge, over the rocky incline and then peek around the edge of a large boulder until the ducks came close enough to get a shot....and believe me they weren't cooperating! Barrow's Goldeneye facts: Barrow's goldeneyes dive to feed on aquatic insects, crustaceans, small fishes, fish eggs, and pondweeds found in freshwater habitats, and mollusks (especially blue mussels), seastars, and marine worms found in marine habitats.
