A number of small birds were on a this small sandy bank, ignoring photographers, and soaking up the sun. We're not sure the specific variety of finch this is, but we are sure it was thoroughly enjoying the 'sun and sand'. Finch facts: Finch is the common name for the largest family classification of birds (including over half the known species), they are found in most parts of the world except Australia. The average lifespan of a finch is 5-9 years.
