Bighorn sheep are not often seen in Yellowstone and we were having some difficulty spotting them until we travelled the Mammoth to Gardiner road. We saw them along the cliffs and steep hills just above the road. Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep facts: Bighorn Sheep are considered good indicators of land health because the species is sensitive to many human-induced environmental problems.
