Garter Snake

Ridgefield NWR, Ridgefield, Wa

The snake had more to fear from me than I had to fear from it, however I still jumped about 2 ft in the air when I first saw it After my hear(too many memories of working in rattlesnake country). After my heart rate settled, the snake and I had a great photography session. Garter Snake facts: Garter snake babies are born live, usually 20 to 40 at a time. The largest recorded number of babies born at one time was 98!
