I wasn't sure if this was a new duckling style of 'jumping jacks' or exactly what these two little ones were doing when I first saw them on the water (I just knew that I wanted to get a shot of them doing it). They continued stretching their wings and trying to walk on water for a while longer, then settled down and swam around with their 'mom' and other 'siblings'. Duck Trivia (believe it or not): If ducklings are raised alone, they tend to think that they are part of whatever flock they're around. Sometimes they'll believe that they're human, a chicken or even a dog.
