This is the historic district of the 200+ year old town in Maryland. It is layered with history and is evident between the bricks. Today it is a thriving row of retail stores hawking knick knacks, potpourri, scented candles, doilies, and other little things you'd find in a womens house (I'm going to regret saying that), but the ancient atmosphere (ancient for the United States) remains intact. In nearly every picture I strove to capture this history, yet include at least one small item that's modern.
A revisit is still planned.

Ellicott City is a real Maryland gem. Unfortunately, I upgraded to digital after I moved away from Maryland, otherwise, I would have definitely dedicated a gallery to EC. Thanks for a great tribute :-).

How did you get the wall effect behind this gallery. It sets the pictures off great! Could you let me know in an email perhaps :) Thanks!
