I 'owned' this house for about 2 months back in 2004 or 2005. I won it from a City of Detroit auction. The plan was to fix it up and either resell it or rent it out. However, the city's appraiser turned in a repair estimate that pushed the total acquisition and rehab cost higher than a loan I could qualify for. I ended up losing about $10,000 on the deal :-(
