A remarkable thing about the city-state of Singapore is that despite its
small size and land development needs there are still national parks with
a rich diversity of plants and animals located close to the city boundaries.
One of these nature parks is Chek Jawa - a coastal region with mangrove
forest and mudflats through which the visitor can walk via wooden boardwalks.
A last minute effort saved this nature refugee in the very north eastern part
of Singapore to be destroyed. A few impressions from this park captured on a
