Amsterdam

The Rijksmuseum has a bike path right through it. The building has a large arch in the middle, and the way through is a bike/pedestrian path. In the 19th century, when the museum was
built, it acted as a ceremonial gateway to the newly expanded city. The entrance of the museum is located in the passage.When your are in the arch and look up, this is what you see.

Beautiful arches! Interesting to read that there's a bike path thru the museum! I don't recall seeing that when I visited the museum several years ago ~ though I wish I had! V
