Prinsjesdag (English: Day of the Princes) is the day on which the reigning monarch of the Netherlands (currently Queen Beatrix)
addresses a joint session of the Dutch Senate and House of Representatives in the Ridderzaal or Hall of Knights in The Hague.
The Speech from the Throne (Dutch: Troonrede) sets out the main features of government policy for the coming parliamentary session.
Prinsjesdag is held every year on the third Tuesday in September, which is next Tuesday, September 21st. I'll show you more about it on Tuesday.
It is a day we celebrate and in many Dutch cities and villages fairs are set up. This picture I took on the fall fair in Delft.
