Reach inside the OTA and find the hog ring in its groove on the baffle tube in the center.
Carefully spread it and pull it toward the front of the OTA to remove it from the baffle tube.
Slide it off the end of the baffle tube - it might be wise to have
the OTA pointing somewhat downward so you don't face the prospect
of dropping the ring onto the primary mirror.
If you DO drop it on the primary, don't beat yourself up. The damage is minimal and the scope still useable. Be more careful next time, Butterfingers.
If allowed to stay, a fingerprint would eventually do more damage.
