This is a single 150 second exposure. Not a serious attempt to image this large object.
Taken during a stargaze for Cub Scouts and parents at Camp Paquette in Blackwater State
forest - wonderful dark skies. This didn't look impressive on the laptop so I moved on
to other objects for the show. Later I played around with processing (actually, got a
little crazy with it) to see how much structure could be pulled out.
Result is here, http://www.pbase.com/emagowan/image/139588986
The bright star to upper right is mu Cephei, one of the largest stars known.
Its diameter is larger than the orbit of Saturn. If earth were the size of a golf ball,
mu Cephei would be 3.5 miles in diameter.
