Adjustable Screen

Paul Schweizer: I had a chance to fabricate my prototype manual adjustable windshield for my 2001 Concours this weekend. It looks pretty good for the first one. End result: It works! I have about a 5.5" or 6" adjustment in the secondary shield height. I can adjust it at highway speeds, but wouldn't recommend doing it in heavy traffic. I used an old Rifle windshield I bought used as the secondary shield that actually moves. Marked it up and trimmed it to size with my band saw. I then routed two 8" channels for the runners. I then drilled four holes in my primary Rifle shield. Polished up the shield edges with my buffing wheel and put it all together with white nylon fasteners, washers, 1/2" spacers and wing nuts. I will swing by the hardware store this week and look into some black knobs and other hardware that will improve the looks of the shield fasteners. Overall I am surprised that Rifle doesn't offer an adjustable shield setup. It wasn't too hard to do and I am sure they could do it better than me. Perhaps using two nylon slider from a shelf. Anyway, have a look! http://community.webshots.com/user/2001concours
