This is not recommended! The rack is cantilevered off the adapter mounting which is not designed to withstand the stress. The weight of the trunk plus its cargo will fracture the rack or mount given time. Add the strain on it from a passenger leaning back and ypu'll lose the trunk and maybe the passenger. Not good either way.
