Tea Gardens & Hawks Nest

The two towns of Tea Gardens & Hawks Nest are found on the estuary of the Myall River on the northern side of Port Stephens, a one hour drive from Newcastle and two and a half hours north of Sydney. Nearby is the Myall Lakes National Park which covers an area of 44,000 hectares in which can be found 10,125 hectares of lakes. Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest are connected by the Singing Bridge that spans the Myall River and are home to some 3500 residents. Visitors can enjoy both river and sea fishing, golfing and other sporting activities, swimming, surfing, canoeing and kayaking, in fact just about anything that ensures a perfect and relaxing holiday. We come here to the Winda Woppa peninsula at least four times a year to fish, read and generally "bliss out". The magnificent aqua-blue waters and white sands are equivalent to that of the Whitsundays in Queensland. To us, it is the perfect hideaway only a 40 minute drive from home, and to me a photographer's paradise!
