On the 17th February 1848, William Arnott arrived in Sydney from Scotland, with his younger brother David.
When William was 26 years old, in 1853, he opened his first bakery in High Street, West Maitland.
The history of the Arnott Family is fascinating and Arnotts Biscuits albeit they are still made in Australia, is now owned by Campbells Soups, USA.
