Today I was very fortunate to be asked to help out with the grooming at the Good Samaritan Donkey Sanctuary at Glen William. It was Farrier Day, so 56 donkeys had a pedicure and new shoes, a grooming and their mane cut... they did all look very neat and tidy. They must have felt heaps better after being divested of all that winter hair, and their hooves much more comfortable. My pictures aren't as crisp as I would have liked... it was a very dull day... it rained and rained and rained!! I had to go the long way home, I wouldn't have been able to cross the causeway or the river. Most of the roads were flooded with at least 12-18 inches of water across them. So the positive side is, the water tanks are all full and the paddocks green and lush with feed. Good news for donkeys!!
