Flower And Bee It is getting late in the summer and while at my granddaughter's birthday party there were many bees collecting some last minute pollen.
DSC04001.jpg Driving down the street and saw two Red-tail Hawks setting on the top of light poles. Turned into a side road to see about getting a shot of one of them. Caught this guy in flight.
HuntStrikeMeal.jpg This Great Blue Heron just walks very slowly through the water and then with a great splash his head goes under the water and he comes up with a fish. He is a much better fisherman than I am. This guy caught about five fish and only lost one while I was watching him.
_DSC9053.jpg After a successful session of fishing this guy decided it was time to leave or maybe I spooked him as I was trying to get closer. Whatever the reason it is always great to see those large wings in motion.
_DSC8869.jpg Went out this morning to see if this guy would show up and he was already there when I arrived. He was busy hunting for his breakfast and I was able to get up close to capture a few shots. I saw him take four or five fish before he left. It is good to see that a pro lets one get away from him every now and then.
DSC04374.jpg I am always amazed at the size of this bird when you see them in flight.
DSC04378.jpg I was on my way to try and photograph a Red-winged Black Bird nest when I noticed this Great Blue Heron in this small pond at the apartment complex. I quickly turned around went back. Since it is a small park there were people out walking while I was taking photos and as a couple approached him he fly to the other side of the pond.
DSC00620.jpg In the middle of an industrial park I saw this guy setting on a light pole watching an open lot. I saw half dozen different hawks perched like this during the morning.
DSC00659.jpg I was photographing the Red Tail Hawk on a light pole when he flew down to this open business lot and captured his breakfast.
DSC03611.jpg Just amazed at how far their heads can turn.
DSC03731.jpg A large group of pigeons flying to the warmth of a nearby roof.
DSC03739.jpg It is cold outside and it appears that this group of pigeons have found a place to get warm.
DSC03701.jpg There were a lot of red-tailed hawks out this day. Found at least three different ones perched and, I assume, looking for a meal. Street lights seem to be a favorite place to perched.

DSC00728.jpg Not wildlife but just one of the lessons learned. When spending 3 ½ hours walking in the wild, make sure you have a pair of shoes to fit the need. Not only did I get the shoes but warm socks and gloves as well. Next time I am ready! |
DSC03099.jpg I think he was looking for something which must have been at the bottom of the flower. |
DSC03325.jpg While visiting with Mr. Toad one night to enjoy a fresh one, in the Old Market, Mr. Raccoon showed up causing a stir on the patio. |
_DSC4397.jpg Not sure but I think this might be a juvenile Tricolored Heron. Found this guy driving down the street next to a golf course and saw him fly into the water hole. |
_DSC4400.jpg I managed to get faily close to this guy. |
